The Recteq support person I talked with about this basically said: a) the online videos showing the calibration procedure should be ignored because they are making new ones, b) any reading in the 30s when placed in a glass of ice water is OK, and, c) so what, I have 3 of these grills at home and I have no issues

Click to expand Hi All, I just wanted to add that I did call in to Recteq today to address my concerns with the Smokebox Hopefully this may help others Michael at Recteq said that Smokeboxes that may have been packaged before the Flagship and Dualfire 1200 models came out will not have the clip and grease bucket included in the box

The recteq probe (L) compared to the ThermoWorks probe (R) The recteq probe measures 160" and the ThermoWorks is 140" The biggest difference between the two is probably the connector ends, where the ThermoWorks has a strain relief at both ends and a 90* bend on a male plug You might be able to get that connector into my probe holder
