- Robin Hood: 3% match on IRA transfer - Mr. Money Mustache
Robinhood is owned by the same people who own Citadel, if you followed the GME stuff They make money by selling your order flow to citadel's high frequency trading hedge funds But, if you are indexing away in a vanguard ETF say, that order flow worst legally allowed execution on trades doesn't really matter
- Robin Hood: 3% match on IRA transfer - Mr. Money Mustache
Robinhood announced that there will be a new 1% deposit bonus for taxable accounts, and a 3% cash-back-on-everything credit card, beginning May 1
- Robinhood credit card 3% cash back on everything - Mr. Money Mustache
The Robinhood investment account sync is kind of a mess so I just do it manually now in Empower Ex: it sometimes just shows the balance, but not the underlying holdings (throwing off a bunch of charts like asset allocation), it won't reflect margin being used, you get hit with 2-factor prompts every time you open Empower, etc
- Robin Hood: 3% match on IRA transfer - Mr. Money Mustache
I have about $1M in an old 401k plan that has low fees through my old employer I've been looking at the 3% match at Robinhood for transfers which reading the fine print includes IRA's and 401k rollovers My current 401k plan is managed by Fidelity, so I could do a fidelity rollover to an IRA and then transfer the IRA in kind to Robinhood
- Robinhood and Beneficiaries - Mr. Money Mustache
Robinhood doesn't allow for beneficiary designation Rather than having to wait through the probate process for my heir (s) to get the assets in the Robinhood account, is it possible the account could be put into a trust, like my home, to avoid the probate process?
- Robin Hood: 3% match on IRA transfer
It would be pointless to transfer your 401k to a Robinhood IRA because you'd have to wait five years to start converting those funds not converting, would rollover to traditional first then transfer to get bonus, but just having the funds in traditional would hinder future backdoor Roth contributions due to Pro Rata?
- Where Can I Buy This Stock??
Robinhood lets you place a trade order before the market opens, but I wasn't actually looking to 'buy' I just wanted to confirm that the stock was available first, and got this message:
- Robinhood Margin 2. 5% vs Mortgage Investing
I just saw Robinhood advertising their new 2 5% margin fees when I'm used to see these around 7-10% at other investment firms This actually sounds better than my 2 75% mortgage if you do it as a small portion of your portfolio where you wouldn't risk margin calls, such as only 20-30% of your account balance
