- Experience on runpod : r LocalLLaMA - Reddit
Been using Runpod for testing with AutoGen; to host API endpoints and avoid downloading models to one of my machines The first time setup is somewhat complicated; finally figured out that low resource GPU instances with high availability are the sweet spot for low cost experiments Wish they had a VS Code plugin to manage instances there
- Pros, cons, and advice for using Runpod. io for your stable . . . - Reddit
Runpod charges per minute that the pod is running, even if CPU and GPU usage is 0% So it's most cost effective to plan how you want to use the CPU before you reserve the pod Runpod also charges $8 month 20Gb just to reserve that storage space, whether or not the pod is running, and even the reserved storage is completely empty
- Alternative services to Vast. ai or Runpod that dont suck and lie?
If the Runpod server HAPPENS to have the docker preinstalled, it takes like 5 seconds and works flawlessly, but around 75% of the time, it has to download 30+ packages and the throttling makes it literally take so long that I haven't bothered sticking around more than 30 mins to find out before I just delete it and try again
- Is Runpod still the best? : r StableDiffusion - Reddit
Runpod Next cheapest, but 50-75% more expensive with a very poor experience Very large number of machines available They don't tell you much about the machines, so you can't filter out low quality machines that have slow internet, slow disk speed, or are otherwise unreliable
- [D] Any alternatives to runpod? : r MachineLearning - Reddit
But today it takes 1 minute per epoch I tried earlier in the day, I tried later, multiple different instances, same issue I have had this issue multiple times in the past, recently with increasing frequency Are there any alternatives that are similar to runpod? Or is this just how it is with the current GPU shortage?
- Upload your SD models and such to a Runpod (or another Server . . . - Reddit
I assume that's why you wrote your script for Runpod so you could jump between instances without the headache I guess I could go back to Runpod now that I've accepted I won't be using Runpod's persistent storage and therefore I'll need to do some work each time I spin up an instance, but if I'm doing that anyway, probably stick with Vast
