Starting off I used loads of free patterns from MakeSupply, Corter, Creative Awl et al Just searching YT and Google for “free leather pattern pdf” and picking what appeals I recommend the Corter Easy Tote (free) or Minimalist Purse ($4) for a first bag, both are straightforward but nice end result

The Corter chisels leave a slightly larger hole, which makes stitching easier and allows for chunkier thread if you want that Kevin Lee chisels leave smaller holes with a bit more of an exaggerated slant, which makes the thread stack a bit easier Both brand of chisels punch through leather very cleanly and pull out without any trouble
