Before I did those things, setup was a little tricky Sadly, my experience with Schlage customer service was that they didn't know much about HomeKit Be patient I have to Schlage's, one is the encode plus, and both have worked very very well for years now Totally worth the effort in my opinion

I called Schlage based on what I learned from the thread and a representative confirmed that they printed the manuals to show both options because earlier releases came with a strike plate and reinforcement plate and newer models come with a single reinforcement strike that does away with the need for two separate items
