Sears Roebuck stopped using the JC Higgins brand in 1961 (after which the maker, High Standard, started selling them under their own name ) To try and counter this I modified the actual choke by machining a steel cone, heating the opening of the choke (where the shot charge enters) and flaring it to keep plastic from the wad from catching on it

Sears did have controlling interest in a couple of firearm companies including High Standard ( which resulted in High Standard going out of business ) but as oneounceload posted, Sears and Roebuck never manufactured anything but toilet paper, they simply sold what others made
