For Seether it was Fake It, Rise Above This and Careless Whisper and for Shinedown it was Second Chance, If You Only Knew and The Crow and the Butterfly These albums exposed both bands to new audiences Holding Onto Strings Better Left to Fray (2011) and Amarylis (2012), two albums that saw each band tap into their poppier side with mixed results

Adjacent Came out in the same time when nu-metal was the thing, ergo the sound of Disclaimer I think their debut has some nu-metal elements but it's mostly production More than likely the label wanted to capitalize on the sound like so many others All in all, as others have pointed out, they're more post-grunge than anything
- What are some of your unpopular Seether opinions? : r Seether - Reddit
I think that Seether after Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces are not benefitted by the fact their sound hasn't radically changed That's okay, but speaking purely as a massive fan of them, they've attenuated some problematic criticisms through Shaun's wry sarcasm about perceived plagiarisms in their music
