As far as the other pins go, any wire can be soldered to any of the other 4 pins on the first midi plug you're doing But when you get ready to solder the other midi plug to the other end of the cable, the wires need to be in the EXACT SAME order pattern they are wired in on the end you just soldered on, or else the cable won't work properly

I want to convert my set up to be controlled via a midi controller with all effects in a rack I have a DRRI and all my pedals are on a PedalTrain I think I'd like to keep 3-4 pedal overdrives and run them through a midi looper, while getting a rack effects box that has delays, reverbs, flange, chorus, tuner etc

The cheapest looper that does quantize great is the vox lil looper, next step up Id recommend the jamman stereo (neither of those have midi clock sync) The loopers that have midi synch are more pricey and complex and most have bugs
