Alright, this is all you need to know 1) get a name brand deck 2) find a size you like, I prefer 7 75 or 8 0, you'll just have to figure out what size you like 3) get independent trucks, they are the best and have a lifetime warranty that they will replace them if they are un-skate-able 4) get REDZ bearings, 15 dollars and they're super fast for the price 5) spitfire or bones wheels

Fair enough to riser pads I’ll add some info in, I was aiming this more at street skating In terms of shoe size I do disagree and think it is an important factor, guys with size 12+ feet tend to be taller, larger, and heavier and will have an easier time on a wider board where there heel is hanging off 6 inches

a few things that make this a no-go for me: raw trucks, whatever that means trucks usually last at least for a few years if you're a beginner so it's better to get good ones right away unfortunately, almost every complete uses knock off ones but there are some that use cheap but well known brands (e g tensors) or local ones (e g sushi)

Deck width is all personal preference, but most decks used to range 7 75 - 8 5 with some slightly wider; nowadays decks trend towards the wider side, especially the shaped decks egg decks etc

I know this is a very old post but I found this thread while looking for the objects that your sim is using with his skateboard in the screenshots 5-8 I did find the mod for the skating (didn't try it out yet - does it still work?) but I have no luck finding those U platforms
