I wouldn't reccommend going on a tirade against snakes because of what you read here In some areas of the Deschutes canyon (mecca flats for instance), efforts to keep cattle out of the riparian area in the last 10-15 years has led to healthier riverside habitat and more wildlife in general, snakes included

Any of the tall grass areas along the river have lots of snakes Look for them sunning themsleves in the evenings or mornings on the rocks Of course up at Grandma's Place, about 2500' elevation, there are lots of snakes Gopher snakes, rattlesnakes, and a big grey colored type? My aunt aims for the snakes on the road!

I dont see any damage to their heads Did you kill those by making them drink the beer? Hell no I don’t share my beer lol I’ve found rattle snakes are easy to kill An accurate stab with the boat gaff and game over But I will say their heart beats for like an hour after death
