The Sonos Era 100 is an evolution of the Sonos One The Sonos One has a tweeter and small woofer while the Era 100 has two tweeters and the same small woofer The sound is supposed to be very similar with the benefit of some stereo imaging from a single speaker and wider dispersion

Sonos provides adequate sound quality and is very easy to use setup The separates root provides outstanding sound quality but is complex to setup and accomodate I'm actually more surprised that the Sonos doesn't sound better than it does, knowing that it has such a good reputation (we also have a Sonos Beam in the children's playroom)
