I generally go for Speedtest net because that seems to be what most ISPs will use as reasonable proof of performance When you say 400Mbps are you wired or wireless? What's your plan supposed to be? What kind of internet?

I tried speedtest net on chrome on my phone and I get 160mbps I went to microsoft store to download speedtest net app on my laptop and I also get 700mbps+ Why is there such a major difference? Basically what the title says, i'm wondering how bad important or even how accurate ooklas speed test is for the download and upload latency; my idle latency is around 6-10ms but during the download test it shows the download latency anywhere between 300-500ms whilst the upload latency stays at a steady 9ms i'm on wired and get about 400mb down and 50mb up I'm not having any real issues that

The second thing would be your ISP throttling the steam download to save some bandwidth ISPs can generally see when you are doing a speedtest and they will give you what you pay for when testing Try doing a speedtest while downloading If the download speed in steam increases during the speedtest, then that's probably the issue
