- Sportys PP training. | Pilots of America
I used sportys last year The videos lessons were fine and gave me some good general knowledge that I backed up through experience with my CFI I read the PHAK and AFM and a ton of other material as the real basis of my study Their bank of test questions is very helpful
- Sportys Rant - incomplete process and tests including topics not seen . . .
I got sportys PPL gnd course and then I ran into a bunch of questions that I didn't remember from the videos That's because It's not in the videos As everyone says here: it assumes you've also read the PHAK in parallel, and spent some time with the FAR AIM book If you haven't - then you're missing a good part of the lessons plan
- King Schools or Sportys? - Pilots of America
I used Sporty's back in 2003 I liked it better than the King course Sporty's was more how to fly IFR with some test prep mixed in
- DVDs or online course. . King schools or Sportys?
I bought sportys as my very first DVD set They put me to sleep in no time I actually ended up giving mine away The Kings can be a bit cheesy, I'll admit, but their online course I actually don't mind which is a good thing since I teach with it
- King vs. Sportys vs. Gleim Online Ground School?
I bought the King course for my private I misunderstood what it was when I bought it It is (or was at that time) taylored to pass the written I was looking for more of a ground school that was a supplement to flying It turned out to be very good for the written - but was not what I expected When I did my IFR rating I got the Sportys course
- Help Needed in Choosing Online Private Pilot Ground School
Hey all! I'm new to PoA and just starting my (eventual) commercial pilot journey as well! Right now I have zero flight experience (minus one class taken at Ohio State in aviation about 10 years ago), but I'm having a hard time choosing between different online Private Pilot Ground schools
- Handheld transceiver recommendations? Icom, Yaesu, or Sportys?
yaesu and Icom units are much better made than the sportys units Price obviously is also higher Whatever unit you get - make sure you get the AA adapter panel and keep a set of AA batteries that arent in the unit available to swap in You dont want a dead unit as a backup unit when you need it
- Going for IFR, ground school - Sportys or King? - Pilots of America
I know Sporty's has continuously grown their ground school, recognizing a few years ago it was rather incomplete The King course seems a little dated in terms of the presentation, but an industry staple Sporty's seems much more modern in its presentation with 3d graphics to illustrate
