It seems that Surewest is offering FIOS throughout the Sacramento area, except in Roseville At least I can sign my parent's house up for the service bundle while continue to suffer with good old DirecTV and their stupid HD-Lite

How effective is fast forwarding through commercials on the Surewest DVR? Coming from a ReplayTV (with 30-second skip) it's definitely more of an annoyance I usually press the FF button twice (for 15x FF) and watch for the show to come back on, and I usually have to back up a bit at 2x

Surewest already has more HD channels than Comcast, but sadly, we've rejected switching due to their disappointing and anemic DVR, for which we had high hopes Comcast has a decent, working DVR Cable Box, but even it can be unreliable at times because the iGuide software that controls it (and allows you to select programming) has a terrible interface and is tedious to navigate and use Also

I had at minimum 2 runs to each room with two rooms having 6 runs The SureWest installer was quite impressed when he arrived I presume you will be going with their Internet service as well over fiber too One thing that made things easy was to have the MAC address of your router readily available I had this info printed out for the installer

SureWest was back on our Elk Grove street last night going door-to-door trying to attract more Cable TV Internet Phone customers They now were promising 30 HD channels and a DVR with 120GB HD by the end of the year
