Swagelok and possibly Parker are Another thing to look for when buying compression fittings is the dual ferrule design The back ferrule spins while the front ferrule compresses on the tubing The single ferrule design can twist the tube while the nut is being tightened making it weaker The oring or plastic ferrule is probably the way to go

With the swagelok fittings you can get the tube to pipe fittings "Bore Through" so the tubing Od is maintained through the fitting With the new system plumbing all in 1 2" tubing it looks like the tubing pressure drop is not going to be a limiting factor, grain bed compaction over 1 GPM flow will be the limiting factor

The only thing I can think of is Swagelok branded tape is thicker than normal Home Depot tape so that might be slightly advantageous But pressure rating? Someone is high if they think anything of the sort As others have said, Teflon tape is only to be used on NPT fittings It has no place on anything else

Be careful with threaded connections and sanitation, I have suffered from lapses in sanitation with threaded and swagelok fittings on the cold side of the CFC and had to disassemble and steam sanitize to kill infection problem
