The TFT might connect to the helmet using Headset Profile (HSP) and the phone using Hands-Free Profile (HSP) Both support volume which means that it's just a software effort to get the TFT to control the volume of the phone, the helmet, or both I suspect you're correct that supporting volume on BMW headsets only is a purely business decision
