From my experience with Tecumseh engines, the H series is an aluminum block aluminum bore, the HM series is an aluminum block iron sleeve bore, and the HH series is an iron block bore The original engine for your 654 should be an all-aluminum H-60 Are you able to take post pictures? :confusion-shrug:
