Should be a dot The dot came about with the change from Gen3 to Gen4 The different geometry of the trigger mechanism housing made the previous blank connectors too heavy, so the dot was created to be the "new normal" connector A dot in a Gen3 and before is lighter (at about 5#) than the blank connector
