I had an interesting conversation recently with a couple avid shed hunters and one of them pointed out that dead heads or antlers attached to dead deer can sometimes lay out in the field for months or even years untouched by squirrels and rodents while shed antlers seem to get chewed up

It is my understanding that as long as the antler has the pedicle on it (showing it is a true shed), there is nothing wrong with having it However, if you have antlers without pedicles or skulls with antlers, I believe you technically are supposed to have it tagged Not sure on the laws about state parkes, etc
