Today I discovered a strange imperfection with a component of my Finale 2011 software When I click on the smart shape tool, and let's say I need to create a slur, I select the slur choice in the list, double click on the note as I normally would, but instead of a slur, it chooses something else on the list In this case, it was a line So I un-installed the software, re-installed it, and now

I looked at my Finale Preferences, and it seems that the default settings for a lot of the default files are supposed to be located in: Macintosh HD>Users>josephharris>Library>ApplicationSupport>MakeMusic>Finale 2011>Music Files

The last measure of my piece spreads out over the width of a whole page I've searched this forum for a thread that addresses this topic - it must have come up before - but I get no hits If it has been covered, please direct me to the appropriate thread If not, how do I get the last measure to be a reasonable width? Finale's default is 3 5 spaces which for most purposes is ridiculously small (This number is the horizontal distance between crotchets (quarter notes) in scroll view before it is adjusted to justify on the staff size Other notes' spaces are calculated according to the Scaling Factor setting For most people the scaling factor default is fine

Finale 2006 only puts the cautionary accidental on the 'questionable' note (s) (i e , octave displacements) In the graphic below measure 1 is Finale's default input and measure 2 is after the plugin has been run

A major problem some have had with staff sets is that if you try to do playback while you're using a staff set, HP has a tendency to lock up and crash Finale There are several posts to this effect a few months ago
