A The Jatco CVT used in the Dodge Caliber, Jeep Patriot, and Jeep Compass Chrysler's only continuously variable transmission (CVT), not counting hybrids, was used on the Dodge Caliber, Jeep, Compass, and Jeep Patriot, all built together, on the same platform, in the same plant
- Chrysler (JATCO) CVT transaxle service. - Allpar Forums
The CVT is a continuously-variable ratio gearbox made by JATCO for Chrysler They were used in the Caliber Compass (PM) and the Patriot (MK)

According to Wikipedia, Aston Martin uses the same JATCO-sourced Mercedes 9-speed automatic I would be curious to find out if they issue a similar recall notice

I've liked it a lot more than the Chrysler 62TE, which has shifted like garbage in a few vehicles I've owned Chrysler partnering with ZF is probably one of the smarter things they've done They made a mistake partnering with JATCO for a bit (those CVTs were garbage) The other transmission deals (Hyundai and Aisin) have been OK

You're entitled to your opinion, but I think the Hyundai and Aisin units deserve to be listed in a similar category as the ZF8 vs, the ZF9 belongs with the A604, Jatco CVTs, and the ZF 4 speed I don't see what it matters If it's the base level transmission or not The fact is ZF HP9 had a lot of problems that weren't exclusive to Chrysler
