Tides are complicated Keep in mind also that if you are looking at the tide charts, those actual times only apply to the point where the measurements are taken If you are looking at a jetty chart but you are fishing the causeway, there will be a delay between when high tide is at the jetties and high tide at the causeway

Guess my answer after all this rambling is that tides effect my surf fishing very little At times the fish bite better on a certin tide, but never will you know which tide that is If I just had to pick a tide, I would choose high tide for spring and summer Low tide for fall and early winter word-doctor Posts: 535 Joined: Wed Dec 21, 2005 3:
- How to determine tide movement? - TexasKayakFisherman. com
tides are a lifelong study Too many variables to really predict exactly what will be happening at every place in the bay Time on the water and experience will teach you most of it Too many people get hung up on high vs low, incoming vs outgoing I just like movement of water whether it is incoming, outgoing, or wind-driven
