Timer resolution fucks with your PCs internal timer do not use it It's a placebo, if one second is no longer one second then one frame per second is no longer one frame per second because the data is invalid You reduce what the computer thinks is a second so it counts FPS as higher when in fact it will be the same

The timer resolution app isn't needed for this and it stays at 0 500 you can get ISLC from the dude's link down there but it will only be for the standby list and free memory purge The timer resolution doesn't reset, you have to go back into gpedits to change it, so if you restart your pc or something it wont revert back to default

That's pretty much the same concept, Windows standard timer resolution is 15 6 ms, using media player set it to 1 0 ms Fortnite sets it to 1 0 on it's own btw, timer resolution sets it even lower to 0 5 ms 15 6 to 1 0 was definitely noticeable, not so sure about 1 0 to 0 5 Could be placebo

The situation on Windows is unfortunately pretty awful The default timer resolution on Windows is 15 6 milliseconds You can lower this with timeBeginPeriod; the lowest granularity you can get with timeBeginPeriod is ~1 ms but with the equivalent NT syscall it goes down to ~0 5 ms But this is a global setting (the current system-wide setting is the smallest period requested by any process

Also on the right column, check "Enable custom timer" and set "Wanted timer resolution" to 0 5 And use ISLC polling rate (ms) 500 from dropdown menu And press Start, now it should be automatic and it starts every time you start windows so you don't have to do anything I got this from some forum and it has worked for me perfecto
