- ballistics - short range trajectory vs long? | Sniper Sharpshooter Forums
The ammo ballistics charts on the Remington website list two sets of tables for elevation drop due to distance; one based on short trajectory, another based on long trajectory The only obvious difference seems to be that the short range table is based on the rifle being "zeroed" at 150yds and

- 204 vs 223 - Sniper Sharpshooter Forums
If there is a difference in accuracy, it's mostly due to the lesser recoil of the Ruger, and it's superior trajectory within it's reasonably useful range 400+ yards is certainly possible for either the Ruger round or the 223 The 223 is the cheaper shooter, unless you reload, the 204 is flatter trajectory

- What distance to sight in new AR-15 - Sniper Sharpshooter Forums
The trajectory of the round puts 36 yards and 300 yards at the same elevation therefore zeroing at 36 eliminates any wind variance I prefer the right being zeroed for the 300 yard range because any shots at a closer range just require a point of aim low but still on the target
