<p>well as i read through the posts, i keep finding the term urm i saw that it means under represented minority but what does that mean actually?? i am a greek student and i know that my country sends up to 3 to princeton every year does that make me an urm??and if i am an urm will that give me better chances getting in?? thank you for all your time < p>

None of them got in The reason is because they relied on their “ethnicity” when they didn’t challenge themselves academically by the course offerings at their schools A lot of the time, your “urm” status helps you depending on your economic status and the amount of opportunities afforded to you

I know URM means underrepresented minority, but I’m getting confused on what would define a person as one I was born in Thailand and immigrated to the U S around 4 yrs old My mom is also Thai My number one college, which I want to apply has an Asian percentage of around 1% Would this help me for admission? Also, does having a “sad” life story plus being an URM help a lot? Lastly, does a North African Arab student qualify as one? <p>It depends on what you mean by pretty good grades Could you elaborate? SAT subject test scores? Ap scores? Plenty of Asians get into UCLA It’s not necessarily detrimental to be Asian, it’s just beneficial to be an URM It’s definitely reasonable to get in OOS As long as your stats are good, you’ll be okay!< p>
