There is no way a Ruger hammer will work in a Uberti Stallion The designs are not even close Just guessing but what most likely occurred is the hammer spur was cut off the Uberti hammer Then the hammer spur was cut off the SBH hammer and welded onto the Uberti hammer

My Uberti's have had to have some parts replaced, mainly the trigger bolt spring and hand with spring The Alchemista by Pietta is a very nice pistol but runs a tad more than the standard GW does Now if you want a virtually unbreakable pistol, go with the Ruger's

Uberti has been specifying odd capacities for their long guns for a good while, not sure why Even my 16" trapper '73 holds ten full-length 45 Colts (with its hollow end cap and special spring), although it is hard as @#%^@# to get the last one in there and straightened on the carrier, so I've switched to shooting Schofields in it

I used this method (and a few of my own) to do four Ubertis Worked very, very well One thing I did a little different was to chuck the hammer, bolt, and triggers screws in a cordless drill, lightly oil them, then wrap a piece of worn 400 grit wet dry sandpaper around the shafts and spin them in the drill

In 38-55 the Uberti has a 1-18 twist while the Pedersoli has a 1-12 twist For what we do with lighter (shorter) bullets at moderate Cody Dixon ranges, either is just fine However, if you ever wanted to use your 38-55 at longer ranges against heavy targets you might wish to use heaver (longer) bullets and the faster twist would likely be better
