  • Ultratax - what are the cons? : r taxpros - Reddit
Make sure you understand what your cost is going to jump to after the 3rd year when your discounts expire Unless you are a mid-sized+ firm with complex multi-state returns I would honestly stick with Lacerte You also need modern fast hardware to run Ultratax on if you want decent performance Lacerte is much leaner than UT
  • UltraTax vs. Axcess vs. Lacerte : r taxpros - Reddit
I like UltraTax, but I hate Workpapers CS (trial balance and source document program) I've got a quote from CCH Axcess, but after adding in Scan Autoflow, and PDFlyer, and the Trial Balance program it's looking similar to UltraTax pricing
  • My firm is looking at changing up our software (Tax Dome . . . - Reddit
My firm is likely going to purchase Tax Dome next year and then switch from Proseries to Ultra Tax the following year We currently don't have any CRM software so Tax Dome will be a new experience for the firm Any advice on making these transitions would be appreciated Also, would it be better to use other Thomson Reuters products instead of Tax Dome if we're planning on switching to Ultra
  • Why Drake or UltraTax over TaxAct? : r taxpros - Reddit
When I started my practice years ago TaxAct was the least expensive option for prep software, which was important for a fledgling side-gig I see most mentions here tend to be Drake or other softwares Now that I'm doing more returns I'm wondering what advantages Drake or UltraTax offer over TaxAct Any input?
  • Ultratax - 743 (b) Adjustment : r taxpros - Reddit
When I enter the 743 (b) adjustment in UltraTax, it automatically includes the adjustment on the balance sheet, the M-2, and in the partner's tax capital on schedule L of the K-1 I believe the 743 (b) adjustment should create a discrepancy between the partner's tax capital and outside basis, but Ultratax doesn't seem to handle this correctly
  • taxdome vs safesend? : r taxpros - Reddit
We use ultratax filecabinet and have about 350 returns that come in via sharefile (most of ours send physical copies) With taxdome, it looks like it integrates with ultratax so we can use the status to create a better workflow But the cost is per user, and one of our preparers is an intern which could be different every year
  • FileCabinet CS for Ultratax - really considering moving, is there . . .
We are really unhappy with our current file manager portal, and we use Ultratax for returns, so it seems like a no-brainer to go to FileCabinet CS…
  • Solo Small Firm UT users - pricing question : r taxpros - Reddit
I received an estimate of just over $14k for Workpapers CS, Onvio, Fixed Assets and UltraTax My first question is does this sound reasonable? Is it overkill to get Onvio and Workpaper CS in my first year? I currently work at a firm that only uses Thomson products so I'm willing to pay a little more not to have to learn new software and start a new firm, but just wondering if the package is
