- VBIAX. Why not? - Bogleheads. org
VBIAX is the Vanguard Balanced Index Fund and it is exactly equivalent to 60% in Total Stock and 40% in Total Bond, rebalanced continuously It is, in fact, an example of a Bogleheads' three-fund portfolio in which the overall stock bond allocation is 60 40 and the stock allocation is 100% US
- ETF or Fidelity mutual fund alternative for VBIAX
FBALX looks to have outperformed VBIAX by very roughly 1 5% on average, but has a much higher expense ratio Any other suggestions for an ETF to replace VBIAX? I would rather follow the lowest expense ratio, but the performance might be worth it in this case Or is there another ETF with low expense ratio AND good performance?
- VBIAX Tax efficiency - Bogleheads. org
VBIAX is a fine fund in a taxable account if you have exhausted the capacity of tax-deferred accounts to hold your fixed-income allocation and it allows you to reach your asset allocation goals

Re: Schwab equivalent to VBIAX by UpperNwGuy » Fri Jan 07, 2022 7:34 pm Other than VBIAX (Vanguard Balanced Index Fund), VTMFX (Vanguard Tax Managed Balanced Fund), Wellington, and Wellesley, most balanced mutual fund and ETF offerings by the major issuers are funds-of-funds, and that tends to drive up expense ratios
- Equivalent Fidelity vs Vanguard funds - Bogleheads. org
Fidelity doesn't offer a fund that's comparable to VBIAX, so it'd be better to hold that fund at Vanguard Here's a table of Fidelity index funds which compare very favorably to their Vanguard equivalents: Fidelity Index Funds vs Vanguard Index Funds Admiral Shares So, from that table, Fidelity's equivalent to VTIAX is FTIHX
- VBIAX vs. VWELX [Vanguard Balanced Index vs. Wellington]
VBIAX vs VWELX [Vanguard Balanced Index vs Wellington] by yousha » Fri Jun 22, 2018 9:41 pm Any comments on these two funds I chose VBIAX over VWELX because of a lower expense ratio and relatively similar performance over 10 years as well as 1,3, and 5 year performance I would appreciate feedback
- Vanguard Balanced Index Fund (VBIAX) as ETF? - Bogleheads. org
Howdy, Anyone know of plans for Vanguard to introduce an ETF for VBIAX (Vanguard Balanced Index Fund)? Or a reason why it doesn't exist? I'd like to utilize this fund in some new small accounts and the $3,000 threshold is holding me back I suppose I could make this a la carte
