- VSS event 8193 0x80070005, Access is denied, Initializing Writer . . .
I would still be interested in knowing what the relationship between DHCP and the VSS service are, if the install of DHCP is incorrectly applying some settings or creating an association somewhere in error, and is potentially known and being worked on for a fix
- System Restore, unable to,error in VSS; message 0x80042318
Either running System Restore or trying to create a restore point I am directed to verify that Event System service and the VSS are running The event service seem to be OK (there is a long list of
- dpm 2010 unable to backup hyperV from host- unexpected error vss errors . . .
In dpm 2010 with the latest patches and running on x64, i have it set to backup the intial store and one child partition from a hyperV VM both are failing with the following:
- Shadow Copy on separate storage best practice
SO, make a separate LUN and give the volume using VSS a nice reasonable amount of thick storage for your needs Only use thin if you are short on storage in the short term
- VSS_WS_FAILED_AT_FREEZE - social. technet. microsoft. com
Now though, when I attempt a VSS snapshot and that VM happens to be running, I get the VSS_WS_FAILED_AT_FREEZE error If that VM is not running, the VSS snapshot works fine
- Hyper-V VM backups fail - ID 30290; Internal error code: 0x80990A00
Things I've tried: > Removed extra VSS providers from the Hyper-V host > Added [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Data Protection Manager\Agent\UseSystemSoftwareProvider] to the registry on the Hyper-V host > Followed the steps for migrating from the system VSS provider to the hardware VSS provider > Verified that VDS VSS in the EqualLogic Group Manager has access to the cluster node
- Failed to create a shadow copy - social. technet. microsoft. com
VSS ProvidersCheck to see if there are any non-standard providers that are causing the problem when performing the VSS snapshot To do this, go to the command-line and execute the following command "vssadmin list providers"
- Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Unexpected error querying for the . . .
The VSS service is shutting down due to idle timeout I checked the VVS service and this was set to Manual (which is correct) however this was not started Do you have any more ideas on this problem, help would be appriciated ?
