- Vinyl sibilance distortion. . . | Steve Hoffman Music Forums
Will VTA adjustment really cure distortion if everything else is set up right? On another note, am I correct in noticing that the pressing itself can be the source of the distortion? I did a needle drop of a brand new Them Crooked Vultures LP and there's sibilance distortion all over it

- VTA question - Steve Hoffman Music Forums

- How does changing V. T. A effect sound? - Steve Hoffman Music Forums
To me the perfect VTA adjustment is essential, and I still don't understand why many respected manifacturers overlook this option even on not so cheap models Rega even claims that VTA is useless (of course they sell spacers for the "non-believers") which is absurd
- Question about SME tonearms and the Denon DL-103 cart?
Thanks for the advice I just installed my DL-301 MKII, and it sounds wonderful Almost zero noise, crackle and IGD on old LPs I had almost discarded a while ago I am not sure about the VTA, though Is there a certain way to know if it is properly set? (I am missing the small allen key, so I am not able to adjust it at this time)
- Technics SL-1500C sound not what I expected - Steve Hoffman Music Forums
VTA is problematic on this player, even on the highest 6mm setting it’s still not horizontal but leaning backwards, on an original Technics headshell Azimuth is checked with Azimuth VTA gauge, and is spot on How much does VTA influence the sound and how? What is your reference for VTA? Hopefully not the bottom of the cartridge?
