I have been using a Vertex Omega 130 on my tank for nearly a year now If it doesn't start near immediately after applying power check for an obstruction in the pump It is easily disassembled for cleaning Mine too overflowed like crazy when my tank was cycling and the skimmer was brand new

My vertex omega 150 pump impeller has some ceramic that chipped off I was interested in a replacing the whole pump if possible Quick search got me the tunze 9420 but I didn't know if another pump could work Or if a aftermarket impeller shaft is available and a option Any help is appreciated Thanks in advance

After that it's been running for a year and a half non stop I've had nothing but good luck with vertex, I've used their 1 5l zeovit reactor, their larger 3 0 zeovit reactor and their 1L media reactor, so when I reD the eh reviews about the calcium reactor I was surprised

I have only owned reef octo, ehoppes and vertex IMO ehoppes and vertex where garbage My reef octos have always performed well I just got an elite 150 but it’s not in use yet but I love the twist Lock collection cup, my vertex had something similar which I really liked it No spilling skimmate when removing cup

Sounds like your Skimmer is a like 2 days old and you can't expect to have a new Skimmer and plug it in and set it and walk away, it will overflow as it becomes a part of the system Some Skimmers can take as long as a month, rare but it has happened ( Vertex Omega 150 comes to mind ), Reef Octopus I have found about a week should do it
