Viparspectra stopped making the 300w, probably cause it was overkill Most of these black box leds are rated at 165w, but almost all of them run around 55w per channel On most, you’ll have 2 channels, white and blues I have 4 Viparspectra 165w over my 210 I also upgraded to 120* lenses, helps with the spread

I have 2 165w Viparspectra lights over my 75gal, question being is i got a GSP frag about 4 months ago and it was fully opened for about the first 2 weeks since than it opens up but not fully I thought it would be just the stress of moving tanks from LFS and gave it some time to adjust Still

So my question is, is anyone else using these viparspectra led lights? I have had one since Xmas, 8" over a 24x18x18 mixed reef, I have worked upto a setting of 65% blue an 20% white, which have worked upto and I have only had this setting for a week As on an old nano tank I had bleached hammer corals with a Tmc aquaray, so I'm taking it slow

Looking to get the viparspectra 165w some reviews show that it can have a spotlight effect to it Has anyone removed the led caps to allow for more light blending and less spotlight effect? what would the effect of this be on PAR and performance? As i still want to try a couple sps?
