I loaded about 16 pounds of WST however I don’t have targets or chrono data to show for my results; WSF just didn’t seem particularly special compared to my other choices at the time

Thanks for the info I saw the online Hodgdon and have the most recent data, but I didn't see anything for 38 special WST was recommended to me by Bob Palermo of Penn Bullets Bob makes very good cast bullets I also see that WST is a nice powder for lower velocity cartridges

I liked WST too - it was crazy accurate for me - but it ran out of steam It is a fantastic mid-range powder, but, like you, I just couldn't get full house loads out of it without throwing caution to the wind

I made a ridiculous mistake After I loaded up 50 rounds of 38 special at what I thought was maximum load (3 7 grains WST), I realized that the scale was set to 3 3 grains (My 1 10 grain slider was 2 slots to the RIGHT instead of 2 slots to the LEFT of the 5 that represents 5 10 grain) At

I was getting lower than expected velocity and crazy SD's, particularly in the 45ACP, but found adjusting the bullet seating depth changed how it burned pretty dramatically, much like WST, another favorite I use in 200grn 45ACP

Clays, WST, N320, and, sadly, IMR Target are really good fast powders for 45 38 I’m using a lot of Sport Pistol for competition loads but haven’t invested in testing that in 45 38 yet

Thank goodness there is more than one powder that can work for this application Unfortunately, my experience with 45 ACP had been limited WST, HP38 W231, Universal, SP, etc but it's been so long ago I've forgotten the loading data = ( (FWIW), I've always loaded for target, and not a power factor)
- Is Titegroup an actual spherical like Hodgdon states?
WST is also flattened ball powder but doesn't have the dark coating like W231 HP-38 Titegroup is also flattened ball powder with coating whereas Clays is sliced thin flake powder I like Titegroup, especially for 9mm as it produces smaller groups than W231 HP-38
