Click to expand We started out using the Weber Alnico Silver Bell in one of our combo amp models until keeping up with drummers became an issue for some guys… the WGS Blackhawk Alnico gave us a very similar sound with improved more acceptable perceived volume in band settings (Still use the Weber for guys who want more home-friendly volume)

It's supposed to be a higher wattage Blue, but I much prefer a Blue (more mids) The Weber Alnico Blue Dogs are a little thicker in the mid-range to lower-mids and I feel would be a better fit for the Black Cat FWIW: I typically prefer Alnico speakers in all my amps, but I recently picked up a Bad Cat Cub 15r with the Bad Cat V30

Weber uses the same cone and dust cap for the different watt speakers The 75 watt will use a different voice coil than the 50 watt, so you don't burn it up with the higher current

I'm looking for a replacement speaker for my '75 VC--Weber Signatue Series 8" I want to be able to play louder with less breakup and more boom Ceramic is much cheaper and I'm on a slightly tight budget, so how much better is alnico, or whats the difference in tone?
