Little Sturgeon Bay: There was limited fishing activity this week, with windy and rainy conditions likely limiting fishing activity on some days Smallmouth bass anglers were able to take advantage of some breaks in the poor weather, and they were able to catch bass in 10-20 feet of water using plastic tubes and drop shot rigs

Root River Fishing Report April 7, 2025 Good numbers of steelhead remain in the river The river had been quite high and muddy after heavy rains last week, but conditions have started to improve Steelhead have been caught above and below the Root River Steelhead Facility on spinners or fishing spawn sacs, beads, or tube jigs under a bobber

Anglers targeting lake trout in deeper water have reported good numbers of fish in the 25-30 foot range, and some anglers are struggling to catch their “unders” (lake trout under 25 inches) Many successful anglers are fishing near the bottom in 80-120 feet of water, or are targeting suspended fish over 200+ feet of water Chequamegon Bay
