- Wolves in Virginia?
As I was hiking last month north of Reed's Gap (just south of SNP) I saw what I thought at first was a coyote It was about 30 feet away and just stood and stared at me I then noticed it didn't have coyote ears but more like wolf ears It had pale eyes and a reddish gray coat It didn't seem to be afraid of me till I yelled at it and it loped away Have there been any reports of wolves around

My experience was that Wolfs guides were very difficult to translate form sobo (as written) to nobo That said, the N MT Wolf guide has both a sobo and nobo section and I found the nobo section helpful, especially for water sources in the relatively dry area north of Helena thru to Benchmark

I'm a section hiker and just finished the section between Dick's Creek Gap and the Natahala Outdoor Center (NOC) in four days I usually hike between 12 and 15 miles per day but did a 20 and a few 16s on this hike in order to finish in four days I was thinking of attempting the section from the NOC to Fontana Dam in one day Its about 30 miles and the profile looks like a roller coaster Has

Throw L Wolfs name around if you are un-easy, no one wants to mess with him This is very true too When you leave with a group you will have plenty of friends within 24 hrs, if you have a dog that is well behaved to others and to other pets it should be OK too If I can help you any around the Franklin area please let me know what you need

I am very confident in hiking and camping techniques, but cooking easy dinners is beyond my grasp I don't want to get the meals at any hiking outfitters do to the cost and the availability I want to know some easy meals that will taste half decent and easy to find at any store
