I picked up a pond yacht this past weekend It belonged to a neighbor who gave it to us "kids" 25 years ago So, on the trip home to visit the grandparents, I retrieved it from the basement and son and I hope to give "Bourtai" new life on Walden Pond Here are some pictures: Anyone out there know anything about this boat???

The project was billed as a restoration, but has devolved into super-yacht status I'm sure it will be a pretty thing when finished, but calling it a restoration misses the mark by a wide margin The original design was by the best, as was the build, for a wealthy man for his own entertainment and of his guests

Re: Antique pond yacht question Sounds like some sort of basic self steering gear meant to keep the yacht on a set course (How can autocorrect translate 'steering' as 'catering'?) I have a small collection of pond yachts but prefer to keep them in the condition as found rather than restore them
