ZOLADEX blocks a hormone produced in the brain, called gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH), that triggers the ovaries to make estrogen ZOLADEX is reversible, meaning that your periods should resume within a few months of ceasing injections

What happens when starting ZOLADEX treatment? Once you begin treatment with ZOLADEX, your ovaries will produce less estrogen, and you should stop having menstrual periods for as long as you receive treatment Within about 4 weeks of treatment, most women have fewer symptoms of endometriosis
