zonisamide is not working by ilovemylovey » Mon Jun 09, 2008 5:21 pm Well Lovey seems to be displaying signs like she did on potassium bromide That threw her into pancreatitis So far the PB and Gabapentin control her to 3 seizures a week We added 200mg twice daily zonisamide and now lack of appetite and non movement has set int Calling vet

Re: Zonisamide and feeding -- Need ideas by Anthony212 » Wed Jul 04, 2012 3:38 am Ya I would say its the Zonisamide from experience, we gave him 200mg of Zonisamide as a first medication worked wonders, but only complaint was that he lost his appetite We consulted the vet and switched medication to Keppra that was about 6 months ago

Now I'm concerned that the other two drugs she takes (Zonisamide and phenobarbital) will soon cost more, too I would be interested to know if anyone else has been hit with a price increase for their dog's epilepsy meds

So, Smudge is now on Zonisamide and we are going to try to start weaning her off of Phenobarbital in two weeks if her Zonisamide levels are okay Her sinus issues also tend to coincide with weather changes
