Hi KQ The way I have seen the words used ("thick" and "thin") is chiefly to refer to the number of accounts in your profile (and secondarily to account age) So an example of a thin profile is how most people start out At first they typically only have one account, like a credit card

Fair Isaac has not, to my knowledge, formally disclosed the number of trade lines and types that categorize a credit file as "thick" or "thin " The general literature on credit scoring usually defines a thick file as either three or more than three trade lines

How thick is your credit card profile? By this I mean how many accounts do you show as active, and how many do you show as closed over a ten year cycle? How many recently feel offer your rotating ten year cycle of credit? While some will say a solid three credit card profile is adequate, I would agree it's effective, but nothing replaces mass

I have years of history with credit cards, personal loans, mortgages, auto loans, both open and closed accounts, etc in other words, a thick credit file at all three bureaus FICO 8's are currently all around 700 + - 10 pts Confirmed via myFICO that there are no errors or issues with current credit reports
