- CAAD vs. Contend (Entry Level Bike Opinions) : r cycling - Reddit
Looks like the two best "entry level" options I've come across are the Contend 3 and CAAD Optimo 3 Both appear very similar Any opinions? For context I'll be using this bike for a couple sprint tri's and some weekend rides, probably nothing more than 15 miles at most at a time
- Giant Contend 3 or Giant SCR 2 : r cycling - Reddit
Giant Contend 3 or Giant SCR 2 I want to buy a new Road Bike mainly for racing and long distances, I have a Giant bike store near my house, they have a Giant Contend 3 and Giant SCR 2 which fit my budget, they have almost the same specs but I don't know which one is better
- Contend vs TCR : r bicycling - Reddit
I have a Contend SL2 The difference to a TCR of the same year, in the same size, was the TCR has a longer top tube, more reach, a lower stack height, and slightly shorter chainstays All that is generally going to result in a position on the bike that will be more stretched out and lower at the handlebar Don't let a catalog picture fool you The TCR is substantially different
- difference between Giant Contend SL1 disc (2021) and Contend . . . - Reddit
difference between Giant Contend SL1 disc (2021) and Contend AR1 disc (2021) Hi, I'm looking to buy my first (new) Bike and i was looking at Giants At this point i saw these 2 But to me it looks like they are almost identical if someone could tell me what exactly the differences are, that would be great And what i should look out for
- Thoughts the Giant Contend AR 2 2024? : r cycling - Reddit
I believe the Contend is Giant’s “real” entry-level road bike (not a hybrid) and the AR 2 is a higher spec one Tiagra is a decent group set, 105 would be ideal but the chances you’ll notice the difference is very small What price are you looking at? At $1900 it’s an okay deal, I’ve seen Tiagra Cannondale Synapses near $1200 recently though, which is a completely comparable bike
- Gravel Cycling on Giant Contend 3 - Tire Clearance? - Reddit
I own a 2020 Giant Contend AR3 It can fit beefy tires in there I currently have 700cx 42mm Specialized Pathfinder Pro tires on them (with plenty of clearance) They are very supple-oh so soft with that 120 TPI Slick in the middle and very grippy on the corners Even though this isn't a proper gravel bike to begin with, it is extremely capable of going off-road and doing some medium gravel
- How much better are more expensive shoes? (Asics GT 1000 9 vs . . . - Reddit
Looking through the posts in this forum it becomes evident very quickly that most people here are more than happy to spend top dollar on multiple pairs of the latest greatest high end models I would take that as a pretty good indication that most people feel that more expensive shoes are worth it You're getting better materials, better durability, newer tech That said, everyone is different
- What should my first road bike be? Giant Contend 3 vs RC120 . . . - Reddit
My Contend SL1 has 14 000km (almost 9k miles) on the clock and still with the original bearings (bb and headset) Al other components are probably different to the contend 3 but it's a indication of the quality of the giant frame Also a very comfortable bike, regularly do century rides on it without to many pains despite my wonky back
