Does anyone know of a Defoamer that works? We have several machines with large sumps (50 gal to 150 gal ) that are usualy O K but sometimes it's like someone put in a cup of laundry detergent What causes this? Our coolant is Premier Polycut

I've bought it in 55 gallon drums pre-mixed and I've dumped boatloads of their defoamer into it The simple fact of the matter is if you have a high pressure pump, this stuff foams like a rabid dog eating Alka Seltzer

I have a calcium defoamer also, standard, actually straight filtered water is great, unless you have foaming Then the water needs dissolved solids added ie the calcium defoamer

Usually one of the additives in coolant is a defoamer, which would explain why UK Graham has success eliminating foam by adding raw coolant I sometimes use a defoaming additive from Blaser I was told by our Blaser rep that their defoamer contains a molecule that has a pointy shape and it mechanically pops the tiny air bubbles
