The slot in the tonearm I think is just a fraction too far back so although the soundboxes go on, they won't rotate into position My HMV 162 takes all 3 soundboxes just fine, though the Victor made Exhibition is slightly less tight, however this could be for a number of reasons

Re: The Evolution of the HMV 101 by gramophoneshane » Wed Jun 23, 2021 6:44 pm They used a couple different motors in the side wound 101, and the soundbox changed throughout production from all brass to brass front with pot metal back, to all pot metal Personally, I've never seen a 101 with a crank holder in the lid

HMV Horn Gramophone identification by stevel » Thu Apr 05, 2018 4:19 pm I jut picked this up from a local auction and it seems to be a late machine for a horn gramophone , would anyone know what model year it might be? The motor board is 13 5 inches square , it has a No 2 soundbox and a double spring motor
