Not so weird when you understand how dates actually work in Excel Dates are actually numbers in Excel, specifically the number of days since 1 0 1900 (and time is a fractional component of one day) So all dates are in Excel are specially formatted numbers (so you could format any positive number as a date, or any date as a number)

i am working on a redundancy table to calculate lenght of service at a certain age and what the redundancy in years will be, age-----years less than 23-----0 75 per year 23 to 42-----1 5 per year 43 and above----2 25 per year these figures only count for the years they have been that age examples

Hello, I am trying to convert the years and months between a date and TODAY into a decimal, but my result is coming back off I am using the following formula, but it should be returning something like 1 11, but it comes back as 24 00 as shown in that first row I am not sure why my formula isn't coming back correctly
