I agree Remo coatings for batter heads don't seem to have much of a life-span I seldom use coated heads, prefer textured heads for snares so have limited experience To my ears, Evans heads seem to fit a more modern sound that emphasizes attack at the expense of resonance i would rather have the resonance, ergo i use mostly Remo heads 1 2 3

I play hard most of the time, so I need Remo coated Emperor snare batter heads And for a fatter snare sound on some occasions I often use a 14" Remo pinstripe batter head The one snare batter head I played on and was quite impressed with was a snare batter head that was made of Kevlar, looked like a yellow fabric weave texture

Remo has always been a big dog in the area of drum heads and has a bit of a following for their world percussion instruments Their djembes in particular are very popular As for their drum kits, they never became a major player That isn't because of quality Their drums sound great and I've found them to have good build quality

How are the Aquarian "Performance II Power Dot" drumheads? I've always played the Remo pinstripes and really like them I like the look of the Aquarians as they are a bit more decorative and have the black stripe and white dot in the center I've never played Aquarian, how are they compared to
