Just to add, I'm pretty certain that Tectonic and Terralith and compatible So you can get the smooth slopes and extremely large mountain rangers from tectonic with a lot of Terralith's world generation features which is awesome It does have some more worldgen weirdness where some blocks terrain features will clearly be floating and somewhat unnatural, but it generally looks great!

Survival Mode is a ton of fun for me, but I play a lot of survival sandbox games where food sleep temperature regulation is a key feature, so I probably feel better about it due to the familiarity

Look for ‘Ray Mears survival’ on YT Mostly sensible stuff, well presented Bear in mind though that a lot of survivalism is based around adventure fantasy scenarios, fine for training, whereas the greatest effort reward benefit in real life comes from planning to avoid those scenarios by not getting lost and not taking unnecessary risks when unable to effect immediate evacuation to safety
