The Xotic Effects is more of a Boost, ( 20db ) that has tone coloration like an EP3 The Dunlop is more of a recreation of the original preamp Much Less boost Most of the sought after originals had 6db-10db of boost Not 20db I like the Dunlop vs the Xotic

Yeah, if you need the proper boosting effect then it would be either the Xotic (“inspired” by the ep-pre sound) or the Clinch EP-Pre+ Both can do serious boost but the Clinch is an authentic EP circuit, so that being the case…none of the above vote options and go with the Clinch

The Xotic AC Booster has been my main overdrive for the passed 3 years or so I really like it a lot It's a good overdrive as well as very versatile It can do pretty much anything within reason and I've grown fond of the active EQ on these Xotic pedals and it makes them hard to beat as far as versatility and tone shaping

I picked the Xotic SP compressor because it is the best all around compressor of the minis The Dyna Comp is a classic but I don't love it on single coils The Pigtronix is the Mini of what I use on one of my boards, the Philosopher's Tone Germanium, and it's a really nice squisher with the ability to add some grit if needed

If i want a fuzz I buy a fuzz Or call it Xotic rc booster with fuzz, and dont pretend it is an overdrive The TC Spark Booster with its fat clean and mid settings for overdrive is so much better, worlds away Not to mention it is less than a half of the price of this shiny thing The blue knob for gain 2 control is hardly reachable
