Is Ozark culture very similar to Appalachian culture? - General U. S . . . I was born and raised and lived 30 years in Pope Co Ark Mover to Laurel Co Ky, have lived here 30 years Very little difference in Ozark and Appalachian culture Mostly just a few words The man from the Ozarks fit right in, in Eastern Ky The words and speech are very similar The customs are the same
liberal appalachian towns? (farmland, mountains, cost of living . . . 2 in close to a mountainous region (preferably the Appalachian mountains) 3 low cost of living 4 available and relatively affordable farm land (we wish to be organic farmers) 5 university close by Is there anyplace that fits this description?!? It doesn't have to meet all those criteria, just some Thanks so much for any advice you can give!!
Appalachian Culture: Subset of Southern Culture or Distinct Culture on . . . Appalachian cuisine is distinct, Appalchian "story-telling" isn't common elsewhere, Some old-timers use an Appalchian dialect that is almost incomprhensible to "out of towners," bluegrass style music is native to the area and differs from the music that is prevalent beyond the confines of the hills, and moonshine culture is quite distinct as well
