Yeast management - ProBrewer Discussion Board What is everyone's yeast management process? Specifically, some things I was wondering if others do: Are you crashing temperature before cropping or warm cropping? Do you acid wash or dilute slurries with water? How long are you storing cropped yeast? During this time do you feed, aerate, release CO2, etc?
How many yeast strains is too many? - ProBrewer Discussion Board Thinking about possible beer lineups for a startup I'd like to do a mix of Belgian and British style ales I have one pro-brewer acquaintance who uses up to three yeast strains in his brewery (using converted corny kegs as yeast brinks) and another brewery owner buddy who says any more than one yeast strain is too many
Sourcing a peristaltic pump for yeast recirculation Hi, I am looking to purchase a small peristaltic pump to keep the yeast in suspension in my 100L yeast propagator What is the specs I should look for ? I would also use the pump to transfer yeast from the cone to my brinks Thanks
Biofine p019 isinglass amount? - ProBrewer Discussion Board We also experimented with mixing via CO2 agitation through the bottom port on one of the brinks, and that worked decently The one caveat is that P19 tends to foam up quite a bit, and is very hygroscopic, so you'll want to prepare for those issues (start mixing slowly to avoid sending dust up in the air)
What are your yeast brink SOPs? - ProBrewer Discussion Board We just got a yeast brink with load cells and there is so little in the literature about proper yeast procedure with a yeast brink What are your SOPs with generation, harvesting from cones, and pitching by weight? Cheers!
Corney mod for yeast brink - HOW? - ProBrewer Discussion Board Corney brinks We attempted to use a corney for a brink by removing the inner valve stem on the out post but it would still get plugged fairly often We then had the lid drilled and welded with a 90 deg TC and a down tube Worked well but it ended up being too small of a volume for us and we were also quite nervous about all the nooks and crannies
Closed Yeast Cropping - ProBrewer Discussion Board Before we got brinks, we were just using regular kegs Easy to clean, fewer tiny little parts in the coupler Valve - sight glass - hose - valve - sanke coupler with valves and blowoff on the gas hookup

architectural rules-of-thumb for brewery layout - ProBrewer . . . Forklifts, battery chargers, propane cylinders, tool storage, tubing, jockey boxes, co2 cylinders, garbage cans, yeast brinks, eye wash stations, cardboard boxes, gift boxes, tap handles, coffee machines and pumps all take up annoying amounts of floor space I’d say 1000sq ft is possible if you have an outdoor cooler, but 6000 would be better
