HDMI converters question: Carby, mClassic, and Kaico : r Gamecube - Reddit The Carby has the best build quality (and isn't sold by a company with a history of stealing designs) but otherwise will have the same output quality as the Kaico adapter If you want to use an mClassic go ahead and buy one, it won't make a difference whether you use the Kaico or the Carby
Carby or Retrotink 5x : r Gamecube - Reddit For GC in particular, Carby will suffice You can combine with an HDMI->Component converter if you want to use it with an RT5x, but for 480p your TV will do a decent job upscaling on its own, and the RT5x only really becomes useful if you want to add CRT effects or sharpen the output from the Carby Carby will do nothing for other retro consoles though, and an upscaler is MUCH more necessary
